Concert ChoirConcert Choir is open to all students (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) at SLHS interested in singing, grades 9-12. Students learn the basics of choral performance. Vocal technique and music reading skills will be developed as the students explore a broad range of musical time periods and styles. Students will participate in all home concerts, festivals, and local events. Advanced students will have the opportunity to audition to participate in small ensembles throughout the year. After school rehearsals and performances are required. Concert Choir is a Co-Curricular class and all performances are part of the class grade. Consistent academic eligibility must be demonstrated. No audition necessary.

Lyon SingersLyon Singers is a select advanced ensemble. Students will study advanced choral literature written for mixed voices in four to eight parts from a variety of musical time periods and styles. Students must be ready to pursue advanced music-reading skills. Members will study many styles of choral literature, including major works. Members are encouraged to participate in Solo & Ensemble and Honors Choir. Students will participate in all home concerts, festivals, and local events. After school rehearsals and performances are required. Lyon Singers is a Co-Curricular class and all performances are part of the class grade. Consistent academic eligibility must be demonstrated. Auditions are held every spring.

A Cappella ChoirA Cappella is a select ensemble of students, grades 9-12, representing a balanced ensemble of 15-20 members. Students study contemporary a cappella literature, basic arranging, and vocal improvisation. A Cappella performs at the SLHS Choir concerts and throughout the community. Auditions are held every fall or as necessary. Consistent academic eligibility must be demonstrated.
